Supporting Cylinder Collision

Reddy Sambavaram did some work recently to add cylinder support to our collision system. He had to work out a couple of good, fast methods for testing cylinders versus every other type of collision primitive we already have. He shared his experience and methods with our programmers in a recent Tech Team Presentation. Attached are his slides which includes details on the actual collision algorithms, how they work and why they’re unique. Many of them are hand drawn – We’ve been pretty busy recently with getting Ratchet and Clank: Tools of Destruction completed – but there’s certainly enough detail in there for you programmers out there to make this work.
