GDC 2008 - Insomniac SPU Programming

This year, Eric Christensen and I were planning on speaking together at GDC on our SPU programming practices. But we were told that they prefer presentations with only one speaker, since they tend to be rated higher. So I went it alone. But certainly not without Eric's help in the background in developing the slides and the talk itself.
I thought, all told, that the crowd seemed to respond to our ideas positively. But we do seem to be the odd men out when it comes to managing memory and resources (manually). I am a huge proponent of not automatically managing too many things (e.g. memory via malloc or time via a scheduler) for a console game. I believe very strongly that it forces the team to keep things simple.
If you did attend the GDC SPU talk, I'd be very interested to hear your feedback. If you didn't, then I hope these slides will have enough detail to give you the main ideas.
