Insomniac and SCEA Talk SPU Physics

Recently I had the pleasure of working closely with SCEA’s Erwin Coumans, author of the Bullet open-source physics engine. Our plan was to create a presentation for Sony’s SPU seminar in which we compared and contrasted the run-time pipelines of our respective physics systems, as well as the SPU programming techniques used for developing them. I’m delighted to say that the presentation was well received and showed the difference in our design processes as they corresponded to our specific needs. One being a system designed for a specific platform (PS3) and the other designed for multiple platforms. The entire experience was wonderful and I look forward to interacting with other developers on this level in the future. In our ongoing effort to share information with the community, Insomniac is happy to make this presentation public. Enjoy.
