Greetings Insomniacs – the beginning of March signals the return of Insomniac Games’ podcast, the Full Moon Show. We chat about using motion-capture in Resistance 2, our new technology sharing initiative called Nocturnal, and news from the Game Developers Conference (GDC). In addition, we have two very rockin’ special guests, one who works for Insomniac (and starred in our music video, see below) and another who doesn’t, but is behind a game all you fantasy rockers are playing. We also announce a very special addition to the team who will join us on the first April podcast. Who could it be?

During GDC, we unveiled a new music video about working at Insomniac. The song, titled pin(Ballz), gives a very Insomniac-esque look into our offices and stars our facility coordinator Chris Stathis as the lead singer (check out the podcast for an interview with Chris). Want to see our giant chessboard, massage room or front lobby? Or maybe Insomniac founders Ted, Al, and Brian in track suits swinging giant wrenches? Look no further, as we offer the craziest look inside our purple halls yet!

Insomniac announced a new initiative at GDC to share, for free, some of its source code for its tools pipeline. For the tech heads out there that love our R&D website (where you can find slides from Mike Acton’s GDC presentation), you should definitely check out the code we’ve provided. We’re interested in hearing feedback from the development community on this Initiative.
