Muck Ruckus Team Member Profile: Sidney Spencer

Admit it.  You want to run though mud - bad.  It’s human nature.  There is somthing beautiful about the way mud seems to hearken to us saying, “Hey, I’m mud. Nothing more – nothing less. Come get messy in me.”  In fact, the only way running though mud could get better is if you could do it for charity.

Well, guess what fellow mud enthusiast?  Insomniac Games and Epic Games are teaming up to compete in the upcoming Muck Ruckus charity event in June to do just that!

Today, let’s get to know one of the Insomniac runners a bit more – QA Tester Sidney Spencer.  Why is he doing the Muck Ruckus?  What is his running mantra?  Is he afraid of zombies?  Find out below.

Why run?

SS:  The opportunity to help people feels great.  I think we all have friends that have somehow had their lives affected by medical conditions like this. Through opportunities like this we can help those people, and maybe even find a cure.  Not to mention that I now have a really good excuse to run through the mud.

Why Muck Ruckus?

SS:  Knowing that I can help someone is the main thing.  What makes even better is the interesting way that I get to go about it.  The training I will have to put myself through won’t hurt either.

Faster run time: Chased by zombies, or first in line at your favorite food truck?

SS:  Chased by zombies while being the first in line for a barbecue sandwich?  If I had to pick one I would say food truck.  I’ll need it at that point, and hopefully I will be moving fast enough not to worry about zombies.

If you had a running mantra, what would it be?

SS:  Don’t pass out.

What’s your goal for Muck Ruckus?

SS:  Raise as much money as possible, have a lot of fun in the process. Oh… and finish without passing out.

“Finish without passing out.”  That should probably be our goal for most moments in life.  Wise words, Sidney.  And best of luck in the Muck Rukus!  Enjoy the mud!
