Into the Nexus Music Recorded by Symphony at Ocean Way

“If music be the food of love, play on.”

If that famous Michael Bay quote resonates with you, then you are about to be stuffed with loveliness when you play Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus.

As is usual with the series, Into the Nexus will be fully stocked with original music as you smash crates, float in zero-G, and snowmenify enemies. Michael Bross, a Ratchet veteran, returned to the write score, but this time – we took it a step further. We are happy to announce that select pieces of Into the Nexus’ score were orchestrated by Nashville Music Scoring at the Ocean Way Nashville Recording Studio, who has also recorded the soundtracks for The Last of Us and Uncharted: Golden Abyss.

This is a big deal, not just for audiophiles, but for everyone with ears. As Jamie McMenamy, Senior Audio Designer on Into the Nexus, puts it, “While sample based scores can sound incredible these days, having a real orchestra perform and record the music adds a greater level of depth and quality to the recordings.” So, with a live recording, you are basically unlocking the music to its full potential. It’s like upgrading Buzz Blades from LVL 2 to LVL 3. LVL 2 is pretty awesome, but LVL 3 kicks everything up a notch.

To see the orchestra in action – check out this little behind the scenes video.

And then treat yourself to the finished product!

So, when you are running around the game when it launches on November 12th – take a second to enjoy the melody that is accompanying your destruction.

Still no David Bergeaud, but definitely a step up.

Yeah, he was a lot better than the new composer.
I dunno why they got rid of him.

    Isn’t that a Shakespeare quote?

Loving the sound of this, can’t wait for the game! 34 seconds to 37 seconds reminds me of the menu music in QForce. 😀

It has been confirmed it’s the last Ratchet & Clank game on PS3. But not the last one in the series! 🙂

      • Jonathan Barnett

Right. Even if it isnt one of the leading PS3 franchises (dont get me wrong it will always be the leading franchise to me) I think it’s stupid to not make another one with a movie on the way.

      • rifluegge

No it hasn’t the PS3 has plenty of life in it

  • tooawesome4username

I’ve started playing this game (however I’ve got the European Version). This soundtrack brings music to my ears (literally), and the game itself is fantastic. Please don’t make it the last one. It’ll be stupid to stop such an amazing series. PS I’ve been playing Ratchet and Clank games since the first one (in 2002) and I’m 15 now
