206… That is how many bones are in the human body (give or take one or two)… The femur, the stapes, the occipital bone, the foramen magnum, sternum, ribs, sacrum, coccyx, thoracic vertabrae, the ulna, the radius, the tarsals oh, and let's not forget the metatarsals… these are the bones that make up the human rig….well we are looking for someone to help with the rigging or the technical aspects of our characters… in the form of an Associate Technical Artist. Insomniac Games is looking for a talented individual to help bring life to our characters and work hand in hand within our animation group.
We are looking for someone who can do all of the following and more:
Create high quality animation rigs for characters and mechanical objects.
Assist other technical animators in the maintenance of their rigs.
Support the animators in troubleshooting animations.
Maintain technical integrity of the art through the production process.
Assist in cinematics assembly and maintenance.
Write MEL or Python helper scripts.
What you need to bring with you in your bag of tricks:
Have thorough knowledge of Maya (including MEL or Python)
Eye for form and anatomy
The ability to design rigs that work in an intuitive fashion for animators
Knowledge of model topologies and how they relate to rig deformations.
Bachelors degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
